Theme

Throughout history there have been cycles of Peace, Conflict, and Healing. One of these cycles we are looking at in our show is a snapshot of the 1960’s-1970’s. We start with an image of prosperity, in our cookie cutter white picket fence neighborhood, and are interrupted by the 1969 Draft Lottery, with homes being torn apart, and two distinct sides being drawn up- Pro-war and Anti-war. This is shown with our militaristic block marching on our hippie protest, with a huge clash when the two sides meet. After these events take place, we are left with broken homes and families on both sides. Fire and Rain, the classic James Taylor song, starts to help us find healing with love, even though we have differences. Having found common ground, we celebrate with a rendition of The Fifth Dimension’s Aquarius (Let The Sunshine In)!
