Change is a part of life. It is often a violent, uncomfortable, and upsetting experience that eventually leads to new opportunities and perspectives. This show explores change and how we grow as individuals and as groups though this process of transformation. The show opens with the peaceful melodies of Beethoven’s “Moonlight Sonata” but those melodies are quickly ripped apart into an entire movement of original “chaotic” movement. John Mackey’s “This Cruel Moon” helps us see that every thing that once was beautiful and put together, has now been shattered. The show closes with Coldplay’s “Fix You” as that which was broken is now renewed and slowly pieced back together. From a visual perspective, we encourage the use of the image of “shattered glass” to portray this simple but relatable story line.
